Creating a New Project

The starting point for a project is the Project Database which has to be set-up using the special SQL script provided prior to creating the "Project" (a short-cut for creating new MS-Access databases is provided).

After setting-up the Project Database, the File - New Project option is used to connect to this mdb file via the appropriate ODBC driver and to create a local file (.xrp) containing the database connection information. This acts as a shortcut to enable subsequent connection to the Project Database to be made quickly.

Note that the .xrp file does not store any other Project information and if lost, it can simply be re-created without any data loss. Therefore, it is essential that you backup your database and not just the .xrp pointer file.
